Many events highlight Goessel s Threshing Days
The 32nd annual Country Threshing Days held at Goessel Aug. 54 through 76 included many types of activities.
Along with displays of harvesting as it used to be done years ago, there were cars from Great Britain and vintage cars from America. Wheat weaving, quilting, and crayon quilt block demonstrations and water activities by the 4-H club kept people entertained.
Under the tent entertainment included banjo, dulcimer, and country blue grass music plus Voices from the Past and some members of Goessel Goal Getters 4_H club acting out the story of "The Little Red Hen Bakes Zwieback."
A children's tractor pull and antique tractor pull were held. German ethnic food, as well as pizza, Mexican food, and barbecue, was served. Children's activities and museum displays all helped to make it a weekend to remember.
