Marie Sellberg

Marie D. Sellberg, 78, McPherson, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, in a traffic accident near Wichita.

Born April 26, 1926, in Melrose Park, Ill., she was the daughter of Peter and Rose (Mannoia) Scittine. On Aug. 24, 1946, she married Marvin E. Sellberg in Chicago, Ill. He survives.

She was retired as executive director of cooperative education at Wichita State University. She also worked part-time in the registrars office. She was a member of McPherson Free Methodist Church and served 19 years on the board of directors of Kansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Scittine.

Survivors include her husband of the home; daughters, Marcia Meyer of Paradise Valley, Ariz., and Marlene Waltz of Kansas City, Mo.; son, Dr. Martin Sellberg of Wichita; mother, Rose Scittine of Spring Arbor, Mich.; brother, Andrew Scittine of Broadview, Ill.; and sisters, Rose Meads of Spring Arbor, Mich., Dorothy Storey of Muskegon, Mich., and Patricia Burbridge of Spring Arbor, Mich.

Services were held Tuesday at Free Methodist Church in McPherson with Rev. Tom Griffith officiating. Burial was at McPherson Cemetery in McPherson.
