Marion County Toy Run is set for Saturday afternoon
The 11th annual Marion County Toy Run will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion.
Motorcyclists and classic cars will line up at Eastmoor and travel to Hillsboro where participants will unload toys.
Participants in the run are asked to donate one new toy as an entry fee. These toys are donated to needy children for the Christmas holiday.
A chili feed and auction will follow at Hillsboro American Legion.
Proceeds from the auction are donated to Marion County Ministerial Alliance which uses the money to provide underprivileged kids and their families in Marion County a better holiday season.
Tickets are available for a chance to win a GS-22 Chopper gas scooter. Tickets are $5 each and the drawing will be held Saturday at the Legion. Proceeds from the drawing also will be donated to the ministerial alliance.
The toy run, auction, and drawing are sponsored by Sons of American Legion Post #366, ABATE of Kansas District 9, and Route 56 Classic Cruisers.
