Marion County youth shine at 4-H dog show

Dog obedience training is a new activity for 4-H members in Marion County, but judging from their performances Saturday at the Marion County Invitational Dog Show, the local dogs and their masters are learning new tricks.

The all-day event at the Marion County Fairgrounds attracted several experienced showmen and dogs from central Kansas.

Marion County participants won several blue ribbons for their efforts — and Lauren Geis and her dog, Duchess, were named Grand Champions and Carrie Carlson and Buddy won Reserve Champions in the medium dog agility competition.
