Marjorie Thirtle
Marjorie Thirtle, 76, of Hillsboro died June 28, 2002, at New Life Medical Center in Hillsboro.
Born April 30, 1926, in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of Percy and Margaret (Venables) Thirtle. She lived in the New York area for nine years before moving to Connecticut for 18 years.
In 1954, she moved to Wichita where she lived and attended various activities at the Institute of Logopedics. In 1981, she moved to Hillsboro. In 1991 she moved to the Main Street Ministries apartments where she played a major role in the renovations of the building. Due to declining health, she moved to Parkside Homes in 1993.
She was baptized in 1979 and later became a member of Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church.
Survivors include her caregiver Barb Ratzlaff of Hillsboro.
Services were held July 1 at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church in rural Hillsboro with Pastor Gaylord Goertzen and Al Ewert officiating. Barb Ratzlaff gave the eulogy. Burial was at Ebenfeld Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
Musician was Brenda Jordan, and vocalist was Beth Hein. Casket bearers were Damian Ratzlaff, Tyson Ratzlaff, Al Ewert and Cord Werth.
A memorial has been established with Main Street Ministries in Hillsboro.
