Marlene Schroeder
Marlene B. Schroeder, 79, of Goessel, died Jan. 15, 2007, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
Born May 22, 1927, in McPherson County, she was the daughter of Jacob and Justina (Regier) Schroeder.
She graduated from Goessel High School in 1945, then attended Bethel College, obtaining a special teaching certificate.
On April 11, 1950, she married Lloyd Schroeder of Goessel. In 1976, the couple founded Pine Creek Farm Christmas tree business.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam and Edward Schroeder; four sisters, Margaret Riesen, Edna Nickel, Sara Wunderlick, and Alice Pankratz; and a son, JaDean.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd of rural Goessel; three daughters, Rhonda Ramsey of Lenexa, Jana Schroeder of Tepotzlan, Mexico, and Ardie Goering of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Edna Ratzlaff and Evelyn Banman; brother, Alden Schroeder; and three grandchildren.
Following a private burial, funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Bethel College Mennonite Church.
Memorial funds have been established with Bethel College Mennonite Church or Western District Conference of the Mennonite Church.
