Marvin Groening, 82, died Dec. 1, 2007, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.
Born Jan. 24, 1925, at Saskatchewan, Herbert, Canada, he was the son of Frank and Agnes (Cornelson) Groening.
On Aug. 8, 1946, he married Elsie Ewert at Mountain Lake, Minn.
He worked at Hillsboro M.B. Publishing House as a printer and production manager. He was a member of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie of Hillsboro; two sons, Loren Groening of Hays and Joel Groening of Nasuli, Philippines; two daughters, Marilyn Hiebert of Hillsboro and Karleen Warkentin of McAllen, Texas; three brothers, Merlin Groening of Hutchinson, Harvey Groening of Lawrence, and Wilferd Groening of Springlake, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hillsboro Mennonite Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Dave Plett officiating.
The family will receive guests from 7 to 9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
A memorial fund has been established with the church.
