Marvin L. Kaiser
Marvin L. Kaiser, 82, of Winfield, died Nov. 25, 2004, at William Newton Hospital in Winfield.
Born July 25, 1922, in Durham, he was the son of Henry H. and Anna (Dick) Kaiser. He was raised in Durham and farmed with his family. He graduated from Durham High School in 1940 and began employment as a custom cutter.
On June 5, 1943, he married his wife Bernice in Durham. In 1945 he went to work for the railroad until 1947 when he began working for the State of Kansas on the highway crew.
In 1951 the couple moved to Hillsboro where he worked as a driver at TipTop Dairy. They moved to Winfield in 1962 where he was a supervisor for Associated Milk Producers in Arkansas City until the early 1980s.
He worked for Snodgrass and Funk Construction for a short time, and he and his wife were custodians at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield for six years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield and Winfield Men's Bowling Association. His hobbies included bowling, hunting, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of Winfield; sons, Randall Kaiser of Winfield and Gorden Kaiser and wife Barbara of Winfield; daughter, Peggy Rikli and husband Richard of Hamil, Ill.; brothers, Virgil Kaiser of Augusta and Gary Kaiser of Mesa, Az.; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winfield. Burial was at Durham Park Cemetery in Durham.
Memorials have been established at Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran School.
