Mary Adams

Mary Christine Adams, 87, McPherson, died Dec. 27, 2004, at Salina Regional Medical Center in Salina.

Born Nov. 6, 1917, in Butler, Mo., she was the daughter of John W. and Minnie (Turpin) Thomas.

She attended Butler, Mo., public schools.

On June 2, 1933, she married Ernest Adams at Butler. He died July 9, 1992.

She was a homemaker and farmer and also worked for O'Dells Laundry in McPherson for many years. She was a member of Trash to Treasures in McPherson, Golden Circle Campers, and Monitor Community Church of the Brethren, rural McPherson.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Homer Enns; grandson, Larry Enns; and brother, Elvin Thomas.

Survivors include daughters, Louetta C. Enns of Hillsboro, Lorine Gates of Catoosa, Okla., and Karen J. Adams of Maple Grove, Minn.; sisters, Louise Pratchard of Muskogee, Okla., and Pauline Craft of Butler, Mo.; brother, William Thomas, of Butler, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight (Thursday) at Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home in McPherson.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Monitor Community Church of the Brethren, rural McPherson, with Pastor Leslie Frye officiating. Burial will be at Johannestal Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

Memorials have been established with Monitor Community Church of the Brethren or Trash to Treasures.
