Mary Ann Larsen-Pusey

Mary Ann Larsen-Pusey, 67, died July 14, 2005.

Born Nov. 17, 1937, at Winside, Neb., she was the daughter of William and Alvina (Schiemeyer) Larsen.

She grew up in Nebraska, graduating from Ruskin High School. In 1964 she graduated from Tabor College at Hillsboro and taught high school in the rural areas.

She traveled to Bogota, Columbia, South America on a Fulbright Scholarship. In 1968 she received a master's degree in Spanish from Emporia State University. Mary Ann also received a doctorate degree from Claremont University in bilingual and multicultural education in 1988.

On June 2, 1973, she married Clinton Pusey in Columbia. They returned to the United States and lived in southern California where she continued her teaching career until retirement in June 2005.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wilma Larsen.

Survivors include her husband, Clinton; son, Jeremy of Fresno, Calif.; daughter, Zelda Pusey of Boulder, Colo.; brother, James Larsen of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and sisters, Karen Bowlin of McMinnville, Ore., and Ellen Reed of Tucson, Ariz.
