Mary Ratzlaff
Mary Ratzlaff, 92, of Goessel, died Jan. 21, 2003, at Bethesda Home in Goessel.
Born Aug. 23, 1910, in McPherson County, she was the daughter of Peter P. and Margaretha (Wiens) Penner.
She married Albert Ratzlaff Nov. 8, 1936, near Inman. They lived on a farm southwest of Hillsboro, moving to Goessel in 1986.
She was a homemaker and a member of Alexanderwohl Church and Kings Daughters.
She was preceded in death by a brother, David Penner, and sisters, Hulda Androes and Lena Schmidt.
Survivors include her husband of Goessel; sons, Norman and wife Wanda Ratzlaff of Newton and Marlin and Anita Ratzlaff of Arvada, Colo.; daughters, Frances and husband Bob Rogers of McPherson and Rosalie and husband Marvin Duerksen of rural Canton; brothers, Henry Penner of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Anna Duerksen of Goessel, Lavina Goering of McPherson, Elda Schrag of North Newton, and Velma Unruh of Galva; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel. The family will great friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with Rev. James Dunn and Rev. Mark Wiens officiating. Burial will be at Alexanderwohl Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established at Bethesda Home.
