Max Heinrichs receives state principals award

Max Heinrichs, assistant principal and activities director at Hillsboro High School, was awarded the Kansas Association of Secondary School Principals Award for his outstanding work in region III.

"I'm glad I've been recognized," said Heinrichs who originally thought a friend was playing a joke on him.

Dale Honeck, HHS principal, nominated Heinrichs for the honor.

"This is very distinguishing," said Honeck. "Max is a rising star in the KSSAP."

"I feel more than fortunate to be able to work at Hillsboro High School," said Heinrichs. "We have great support staff and students, and I think we have a positive impact on the schools around us. If I was in another school system, I think it would be harder to get the award."

Heinrichs is one of six assistant principals in the state to be honored this year.
