Maynard Hefley
Maynard (M.V.) Hefley, 80, died Jan. 11, 2004, at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
Born Jan. 25, 1923, at Durham, he was the son of Fred and Anna (Zimmerman) Hefley.
On Oct. 19, 1947, he married Ruby Schmidt at Hillsboro.
He was a lumberman and farmer as well as a member of Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby of Hillsboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Leanna Hefley of Hillsboro and Jon and Sonja Hefley of rural Marion; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Vincent Collier of Newton; a sister, Florence Ehrlich of rural Marion; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. R. Laney Kuhn officiating.
Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Harvey County Special Olympics, Hillsboro United Methodist Church, or the National Parkinson's Foundation.
