MCC Sale begins Friday

The Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale, sponsored by more than 70 Kansas Mennonite, Brethren in Christ, and Amish congregations, begins at 4 p.m. Friday at Kansas State Fairgrounds, Hutchinson. Proceeds are donated to Mennonite Central Committee, a worldwide relief organization, to benefit the needy in North America and through the world.

The German buffet opens at 4 p.m. in Cottonwood Court with food service also available at all other locations. The open house and sale of priced items will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. with the general auction held at 6 p.m. in Sunflower North Building. The auction continues at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.

A musical program featuring Jake Schmidt will be held at 7 p.m. in Meadowlark Building.

Breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. in Cottonwood Court begins Saturday's activities. The sale of priced items is at 7 a.m. with the quilt auction beginning at 8:45 a.m. More than 250 quilts will be auctioned.

Midway through the auction, specialty needlework will be sold.

Items to be sold at the general and quilt auction may be viewed starting at 5 p.m. Friday. Quilt catalogues will be available at the auction.

The German buffet begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Cottonwood Court.
