McMillen, Jay married in outdoor ceremony

Amy Elizabeth McMillen of Blackjack, Texas, and Brian Lee Jay of Little Elm, Texas, were united in marriage in an outdoor ceremony at 6 p.m. Oct. 6 at Castle on the Lake, Jacksonville, Texas.

The bride is the daughter of George and Judy McKinney of Blackjack, Texas, and the late Duncan McMillen. She is the granddaughter of Wanda Cunningham of Blackjack, Texas, the late Charles Cunningham, and the late Vivian and Paris McMillen.

The groom is the son of Larry and Peggy Jay of Goessel. He is the grandson of the late Adrian and Velma Hall and the late Virgil and Barbara Jay.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She wore an oyster-colored Maggie Sottero Rosemary Leigh dress with pewter accents. The satin gown featured illusion sleeves, a corset back, and a chapel train. The bodice was decorated with Swarovski crystals, seed beads, sequins, and bugle beads. Her oyster-colored fingertip veil was embellished with a flat, corded edge. She carried a bouquet of Mimi Eden, Dolce Vita, Titanic, and Paul Cezanne roses nestled in nerine and lavender clusters.

The bride was attended by her friend, John Dobroski. Bridesmaids were the bride's sisters, Debbie McKinney and Tammy Vierkant and her friend, Karyn Dobroski.

Attending the groom were his sister, Karry Lawrence, brother, Michael Jay, bride's brother, T.J. McKinney, and bride's nephew, Caleb Vierkant.

The bride's niece, Valerie Vierkant was the flower girl. The ring bearer was the bride's nephew, Jacob Vierkant.

Guests were seated by Chip Cunningham, Austin Cunningham, and Waylon Cunningham. Junior ushers were Luke Cunningham, Sam Cunningham, and Hatch Cunningham.

The bride is a graduate of Jacksonville (Texas) high School. She received a bachelor's degree in Spanish and an MBA from Texas A&M. She currently is employed by McKinney & Moore, Jacksonville.

Her husband is a graduate of Goessel High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in automotive technology from Pittsburg State University. He currently is employed by Ford Motor Company, Lewisville, Texas.

Following a wedding trip to Puerto Rico, the couple resides in east Texas.
