Melvin Schmidt

Marvin Schmidt, 81, died April 12, 2007, at Manor Care, Wichita.

Born Oct. 10, 1925, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Peter and Elizabeth (Pankratz) Schmidt.

He was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Menno, Jacob, and John.

Survivors include a sister, Selma Klassen of Manitowa, Wis.; nieces; and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at First Wesleyen Church, Wichita.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. at Alexanderwohl Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with the Kansas Elks Training Center (KETCH).
