Michon Buckner

Michon L. Buckner, 31, of Newton, died April 3, 2003, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita.

She was born March 29, 1972.

On Oct. 21, 2000, she married David Buckner in Newton. He survives. She had a degree in special education with a minor in psychology. She was a caregiver with TSS Respite Care of Newton and attended Hillcrest Community Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Jaci Lee Fast; step-grandson, Zachary Orendorf; and grandfather, Jake Ratzlaff.

Survivors include her husband of Newton; father, Clayton Fast of Hesston; mother, Diane Voth of Newton; stepdaughters, Christy Foster and husband Nathan of Lafayett, Colo., Brooke Orendorf and husband Zak of Sands Springs, Okla.; brother, Cameron Fast and wife Serena of Marceline, Mo.; grandparents, Anton and Elizabeth Fast of Goessel and Ruth Ratzlaff of North Newton; and five step-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday at Hillcrest Community Church with Pastor Jason Reynolds officiating. Burial was at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel.

A memorial has been established with Caring Hands Humane Society in Newton.
