Nellie Ediger
Nellie Ediger, 97, of McPherson died Dec. 13, 2002, at the Cedars Health Care Center in McPherson.
Born Nov. 11, 1905, near Inman, she was the daughter of John J. and Anna (Voth) Pauls. She attended Superior Country School and graduated from Hoffnungsau Bible Academy, both in McPherson County. She lived in McPherson County most of her life.
On Oct. 11, 1925, she married J.A. (Jake) Ediger at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church in McPherson County. He preceded her in death Aug. 7, 1998.
She was a homemaker, worked for the Hillsboro Nursing Home in the kitchen, and later was custodian for the Presbyterian Church of McPherson.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in McPherson and a member of the Ladies Circle of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter Velma Ediger; grandson Steven Ediger; brothers, Edward, John, Curt, Alvin, Leonard and Abe Pauls; and sisters, Mary Martens and Ann Friesen.
Survivors include sons, Virgil Ediger of McPherson, Eldo Ediger of Canton, Ga., Vernon Ediger of Aurora, Colo., Carl Ediger and Paul Ediger, both of McPherson, and Wayne Ediger of Arvada, Colo.; brother, Walter Pauls of Nicholasville, Ky.; 18 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in McPherson with Rev. David Worthen officiating. Burial was at North Inman Cemetery in Inman.
Memorials have been established with First Presbyterian Church or the Cedars Health Care Center, both of McPherson.
