New personnel join sheriff's office

There are several new faces in the Marion County Sheriff's Department.

Sheri Lewis of Peabody is full-time office manager. She was a paraprofessional at Peabody-Burns school district for Marion County Special Education Cooperative.

Sheri's husband, Dean, is employed by Cessna Corporation, Wichita. They have two children: Paige, 7, and Alexandra, 5.

Vicki Hiebert of rural Hillsboro is a part-time support person. She spent four years as a dispatcher for Marion County Communications and more recently served in corrections in McPherson County.

Vicki's husband, Loren, is a self-employed farmer. They have no children.

David Martinez of Peabody is the new corrections officer at Marion County Jail. He is a retired navy officer.

Martinez is responsible for maintaining the jail and providing care for inmates. He also provides transportation and accompanies inmates to court appearances.

He and his wife, Cyndi, have two children: Carrie, 18, and Daniel, 9.

Other staff members include Lee Becker, sheriff; Jeff Soyez, sergeant; and deputies Larry Starkey, Roland Schmidt, Aaron Waddell, and Mike Vineski.
