New prosecutor will review, determine charges in Parmley case
Charges were filed Aug. 10 by Marion County Attorney Susan Robson against former Marion Police Officer James Parmley of Cedar Point.
Originally Parmley was charged with disorderly conduct following the discharging of a firearm during a domestic dispute with family members July 28.
Robson filed additional charges of criminal threat and criminal discharge of a firearm to the disorderly conduct charge.
During the Aug. 14 bond appearance, neither Parmley or his attorney were in court. Robson reported to the court that a conference was held and concerns were expressed that there may be a conflict of interest if Robson was to prosecute the case, so John Klenda was appointed as a special prosecutor. Robson said Klenda then will review the case and determine what charges will be filed.
Parmley is scheduled to make his first court appearance at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Marion County District Court.
