Memorial Day weekend, Wendell and Linda Wedel went to Fredonia to spend time with Linda's mother and family. Monday evening, the Wedels entertained Greg and Charlene Wedel and Caden, Dale and Kathy Jantz and Ruthann, and Troy and Marla Wiebe and family with a fish fry.

Saturday evening, Larry and Wanda Koehn, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Marcel and Wendy Unruh and Travis and Sharon Koehn and family went to Salina Rescue Mission and presented a program after which they helped with serving of the evening meal and the cookies that they brought for the people that attended the program.

Guests in the home of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe for Sunday dinner were Roy and Nadine Davis and Eileen, John and Ethel Steiner and Randall, Rick and LaVae Koehn, and Travis and Sharon Koehn and family.

The Mark Unruh family and the Warren Unruh family attended the Saturday afternoon wedding of Kara Kaufman and Derek Klingenberg at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe invited Irvin Isaac, Ken and Sandy Wiebe and Teresa, Dale and Kathy Jantz and Ruthann, Marcel and Wendy Unruh and Jeff and Monica Ratzlaff to be their Sunday dinner guests.

Wednesday evening, Wendell and Linda Wedel cooked a Cajun style chicken, fish, and shrimp supper and invited Wayne and Loralee Wiebe and Ross, Doyle and Kara Wiebe and family, Duane and Louise Ratzlaff, Warren and Jane Unruh, Mike and Mich Rhodes and Madison, Harry and Sheryle Rhodes, and Greg and Charlene Wedel and Caden to be their guests.

Katelin Unruh spent from Wednesday to Friday afternoon at a FFA officers' meeting in Manhattan with the other officers from USD 410. Sara Hamm and Lucas Hamm were among those that also attended.

Going to the home of Merlin and Karletta Wiebe Sunday to be their dinner guests were Melvin and Vera Dirks, Warren and Jane Unruh, Wendell and Linda Wedel, and Greg and Charlene Wedel and Caden.

Bruce and Cheryl Dirks went to visit Harvey and Madeline Jantz Sunday afternoon. For the evening, they went to the Halstead Church to hear Arlan Yost give a report on China.

Congratulations to Rustyn Dirks, son of Bruce and Cheryl, on his marriage to Lydia Toews of Murray, Ky. The wedding will take place on Sunday.

The memorial services for Elva Jantz, longtime school teacher and resident of this community, were held Monday at the Roxbury Church. She was 96 and passed away on June 4 at the Schowalter Villa in Hesston. Attending from here were Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, Marcella Unruh, Lola Redger, Jaraine Redger, Glen and Doris Crowther, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe, Jason Wiebe, Doyle Wiebe, and Mark and Kris Wiebe and family.
