A group of friends got together Thursday at the Red Barn Café to celebrate some January birthdays. Those attending were Richard and Kathy Dirks, Duane and Shirley Hamm, Melvin and Dorene Joy, Willis and Eleanor Herbel, Gary and Lilia Unruh, Glenn and Doris Crowther, Joan Harmon, Joyce Medley, and Edie Ollenburger. The birthdays of Duane, Richard, and Melvin were honored.

Memorial services for Jake Junior Yost of McPherson were held Friday at Morning Star Church. Burial was that afternoon at McPherson.

Thursday evening supper guests of Tim and Shelia Koehn were Wendell and Linda Wedel, Roy and Nadine Davis, Rick and LaVae Koehn, Bryon and Rebecca Thomas and children, and Ruston and Lydia Dirks.

Thursday overnight guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were Conrad and Lois Yost of Iroquois, S.D., and Laurel and Donna Koehn of Copeland. They came for the funeral services Friday.

Harry and Sheryl Rhodes and Mark and Kris Wiebe and family were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Travis and Sharon Koehn.

Palmer and Lucille Base went to Wichita Monday to visit Merle and Pam Hartman.

Wendell and Linda Wedel went to the home of Ron and Margaret Jantz Saturday evening to help Bev Mayeskea celebrate her birthday. The Wedels hosted a supper and other guests were Carl Mayeskea of Garden City, Allen and Ann Mayeskea of Newton, Kelly and Kristi Jantz, Bev, and her friend, Paul.

Sunday dinner guests of Clayton and Betty Wiebe were Lillian Wiebe, Irvin Isaac, Henry Redger, Quinton and Dianne Unruh, Katie and Jessie, and Jason and Sheri Wiebe and family.

Melvin and Vera Dirks were Sunday dinner guests of Bruce and Cheryl Dirks.

Garrett Becker celebrated his first birthday Sunday with a dinner at the home of his parents, Travis and Connie Becker. Guests were Wendell and Linda Wedel, Greg and Charlene Wedel and family, and Marlin and Jeri Becker and family. They all attended church at Halstead with the Beckers.
