Many mothers were honored May 10-11 with dinners, cards, and flowers; and there were many memories of mothers who are no longer with us.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe, the Nelson Wiebe family, Travis Koehn family, and Calvin Wiebe family had a picnic Friday evening at Coronado Heights. Mother's Day and birthdays were celebrated. Jaren turned nine, Jacob six, and Jaci two.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, the Jason Wiebe family, Bryan and Rebecca Thomas and family, Sharon Redger, Lisa Redger and friend Tracy Peters who works with Lisa at the manor, were Sunday dinner guests at the Mark Wiebe home.
There was a mother-daughter tea Friday at Moundridge Manor. Those who attended from the Durham area were Betty, Lillian, and Charlotte Weibe.
Nadine Davis was a guest of her mother's at the manor. Afterward, Roy, Rhonda, Eileen, Rick, and LaVae met her in Moundridge and all went to Hutchinson where they had supper in honor of LaVae's birthday which was May 9. That evening they attended the nurses' graduation at Hutchinson Community College.
Wendell and Linda Wedel, their houseguests Newton and Maria Jantz and Gavin, and Greg and Charlene Wedel and family attended the nurses' pinning Friday afternoon at Hutchinson for the Wedels' son-in-law, Travis Becker. That evening they attended his graduation at the sports arena. They all went to a pizza party in his honor after the services.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks honored Cheryl's mother, Verna Smith, Friday evening by taking her flowers and visiting her at her home at Hutchinson. On Sunday the Dirks' and Heath and Bethany were dinner guests at the Ruston Dirks home. Melvin and Vera Dirks also were guests.
The upcoming wedding of Lisa Redger and Gladwin Smith of Cimarron was announced Sunday morning at Morning Star Church. The wedding will take place June 15. Congratulations!
Jim and Brenda Enns and Darren, Lon and Deb Hiebert and Matt, Mark and Barb Unruh and Sarah, and Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan, Kyle, and Jenna brought supper Saturday evening which included a fish fry to the home of Ron and Dora Unruh. These were fish that Warren had caught and were very good!
Newton and Maria Jantz and Gavin left Monday for their home in California after visiting family and friends for about two weeks.
Supper guests Friday evening of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were Lisa Redger, Sharon Redger, and David and Gloria Smith and Gladwin of Cimarron.
Rick and LaVae Koehn were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Roy and Nadine Davis.
Ron and Dora Unruh attended the spring concert of the Tabor College Choral and Community Orchestra Sunday evening at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Their grandson, Darren Enns, was a member of the orchestra and choir.
Clayton and Betty Weibe invited Irvin Isaac and Henry Redger for Sunday dinner.
Wendell and Linda Wedel went to Fredonia Wednesday to attend funeral services for Lamar Mayeskea, the seven-year-old son of Brad and Anneta Mayeskea. Brad is Linda's nephew. Lamar was killed in a four-wheeler accident.
Guests in the home of Palmer and Lucille Base for a visit Wednesday evening were Louie and Beth Ade of Gypsum.
