It was a joyous Monday morning for everyone when we finally had a good rain. Saturday and Sunday afternoon there were a few showers in the area but very scarce and spotted. Then overnight and Monday morning there was about 2.5 inches in the rain gauge. Wonderful!
Sunday dinner guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were Jason and Sheri Wiebe and family, Ray and Vickie Jarnouin of Gladstone, Manitoba, Carol Unruh, Bryan and Rebecca Thompson, and Mark and Kris Wiebe and family. The Jarnouins are houseguests of Jason and Sheri.
Ron and Dora Unruh and Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin and Sarah were among 32 relatives who attended the A.E. and Minnie Pankratz reunion Sunday in the activity room at Kidron Village, Newton.
Bethany Dirks returned home Thursday after spending six months working at the Children's Home at Gallup, N.M.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe and their houseguests, Errol and Mae Wedel, Loretta Wiebe, and Bruce and Cheryl Dirks were Wednesday supper guests of Ken and Sandy Wiebe. The Wedels left Sunday afternoon for their home in Yuma, Ariz.
Sunday dinner guests of Roy and Nadine Davis were Greg and Charlene Wedel and family, Nelson and Bev Wiebe and family, Ruston and Lydia Dirks, and her sister Katie Toews, who is spending a few days with Lydia.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks and Merle and Lena Wengar of Halstead left Thursday for Goshen, Ind., returning home Sunday evening.
Those enjoying a picnic Sunday evening at Marion Reservoir were the Terry Hiebert family, Roy Davis family, Jason Wiebe family, Ray Jarnouin, Quinton Unruh family, and the Morning Star youth.
Wendell and Linda Wedel attended Sunday services at Burns with her sister, Ron and Margaret Jantz. Later in the afternoon, they went to visit their mother and other Mayeskea family members at Fredonia.
