Tom and Sara Penner and Mollie of Swan River, Manitoba, Canada, arrived Aug. 9 at the home of their parents to spend time visiting family and friends. Sara's sister, Amy Koehn of Brooksville, Miss., came Friday to spend time with them. She returned home Monday. The Dayton Unruh family and Richard and Starla Harms and Hannah of Liberty, Ky., got together Saturday evening at the home of Tim and Shelia Koehn at Durham.
The Gene Redger family had supper out Wednesday evening in Halstead. This was in honor of Jaraine's birthday.
Harry and Lela Wedel, Mitch and Carol Unruh and Deryk, Marcel and Wendy Unruh, Joel and Shanda, and Jeff and Monica Ratzlaff and Taryn were Sunday dinner guests of Warren and Jane Unruh at Lehigh.
Harry and Lela Wedel, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and girls, and Kendall and Susie Wiebe went Friday evening to visit Kelly and Karleen Koehn and Kim and Kristi Unruh and Casey Drew. Harry and Lela got acquainted with their new great-grandson, Casey Drew.
Several families were in Colorado this past weekend and everyone agreed it was pretty hard to come back to Kansas to the extreme heat of at least 102. The cool weather there was wonderful!
Sunday afternoon visitors of Marcella Unruh were Gerald and Pam Unruh of Salina.
Alan and Heather Martin of Pennsylvania came Thursday to spend time with Bruce and Cheryl Dirks and other family members. They will be leaving Sept. 2 for Ghana, Africa, for three years doing mission work. They were Saturday supper guests of Cheryl's mother, Verna Smith at Hutchinson. Other guests were the Sheldon Smith family. The Melvin Dirks family got together Sunday for a basket dinner at the school. Other special guests were Ty and Karmeta Johnson and children who just returned from a term of mission work in Burkina, Faso.
