The community wishes to extend their heartfelt sympathy to the Larry and Yvonne Cushenberry family on the sudden and untimely death of their 21-year-old son in a rodeo accident on Oct. 12. Memorial services were held Saturday at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church with burial at Durham Park Cemetery. Our thoughts are with you.
Tuesday evening, Wendell and Linda Wedel went to the home of Ron and Margaret Jantz near Burns to help her mother celebrate her birthday. They were joined by some of the rest of their family: the Dwight Mayeskea family, Bev Mayeskea, the Stanley Mayeskea family, and Linus Mayeskea as well as a number of the grandchildren.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe invited Lydia Toews, Denis Entz, the Terry Hiebert family, and the Jason Wiebe family to be their Sunday dinner guests.
Friday overnight and Saturday guests of the Mark Unruhs were Barb's great nieces, Kendra, Sage, and Katryn from Enid, Okla. Their parents attended the homecoming activities at Tabor College.
Mitch and Carol Unruh had Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and the Merlin Wiebe family as their Sunday dinner guests.
Roy and Nadine Davis and family were Sunday dinner guests of Margie Jantz and Lena Koehn in Newton. Other guests were the Arnold Koehns of Newton, the Richard Jantz family of Fairview, Okla., Rose Koehn of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wanda Koehn of Burns.
Friday, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe attended the memorial services for Lillian's cousin, Harvey J. Koehn, 79, at the Lone Tree Church near Galva.
Tuesday and Wednesday, Ken and Sandy Wiebe will attend a reunion of about six friends and spouses that spent time with Sandy working at an orphanage in New Mexico about 30 years ago.
Karen Jantz of New Plymouth, Idaho, a cousin of Sheryle Rhodes, arrived on Monday at the Harry Rhodes' home. She visited relatives until early Saturday morning when the Rhodeses took her to Newton where she left by train for Colorado to spend the weekend before flying home to Idaho.
Richard and Kathy Dirks had a busy weekend with wedding activities. Kathy's son, Heath Buster, was married to Mindy Swanson at the Galva Christian Church on Saturday afternoon. They will make their home in Aurora, Colo.
