Calvin and Janene Wiebe left Aug. 4 for Bradley, Ark., to visit Mike and Mich Rhodes and daughter. The Rhodes are enjoying the area since their move there about a year ago. They are busy farming at the fish farm. The weather is hot there and humid. The Wiebes returned home Tuesday evening.

Sunday dinner guests of Ken and Sandy Wiebe were Quinton and Dianne Unruh, Dorothy Nightingale, Madelene Jantz, Lillian Johnson of Galva, and Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and boys.

Friday evening supper guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were the Merlin Wiebe family, Jason Wiebe family, Mark Wiebe family, Anthony and Beth Wiebe, and Brian and Rebecca Thomas. Everyone came to visit with Randy Unruh of California who was driving through the area. He is the Wiebes' grandson.

Richard and Charlotte Wiebe invited Harry and Lela Wedel, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, Sharon and Lisa Redger, and Brian and Rebecca Thomas to be their Sunday dinner guests.

Several families went to Greensburg Sunday for the wedding of Howard and Iris Eck's son. Those who went included Larry and Wanda Koehn and Titus, Wendell and Linda Wedel, Warren and Jane Unruh, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks and family, Darrel and Donita Rhodes, Greg and Charlene Wedel and Cadon, and Tim and Shelia Koehn and Jared. The groom, Shannon Eck is a nephew of Larry Koehn.

Mitch and Carol Unruh and Joel and Wayne and Loralee Wiebe and family went to Hesson, Ontario, for the wedding of Carol and Loralee's brother.

Gene and Jaraine Redger and family went to Halstead Wednesday evening for supper to help Jaraine celebrate her birthday.

The children of USD 410 returned to school Aug. 16 after what seemed like a short summer. The children of Cottonwood Grove Christian School started classes Monday. Their teachers are Monica Salisbury of Montezuma, lower grades; Kendra Smith of Rich Hill, Mo., middle grades; and Lydia Dirks, upper grades. Dianne Wedel will teach the upper grades after Nov. 1 because she has a commitment at the Gallup, N.M., children's home until then.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to Copeland Saturday for the celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of Kenneth and LaDean Nightengale. They also stopped to see Leah Unruh at the Bethel home at Montezuma. After spending the night in Dodge City, they attended the Eck wedding Sunday at Greensburg.
