The area received about two inches of rain in the northwest corner. More would be nice so that farmers would not have to haul water to cattle.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went Sunday afternoon to visit Helen Wiebe and other residents at the Manor in Moundridge.

Several families went to Moundridge Wednesday evening for the memorial services of Elisabeth Jantz, step-mother of Dale Jantz. Those attending were Wendell and Linda Wedel, Roy and Nadine Davis, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, and Harry and Lela Wedel. There will be a funeral service in California.

Ron and Dora Unruh joined Milt and Alice Duerksen, Rudy and Eulalia Schroeder, and Marvin and Rosalie Duerksen Saturday evening for supper at Olde Towne in Hillsboro. This was to celebrate Alice's recent birthday.

Larry, Wanda, and Titus Koehn, Dale, Kathy, and Ruthann Jantz, and Lisa Redger enjoyed Sunday dinner in the Calvin Wiebe home.

Richard and Kathy Dirks spent the weekend of Aug. 13 visiting Heath and Mindy Buster and daughter in Aurora, Colo.. Sheri Wilson and children from Colorado Springs also came to visit.

Larry, Wanda, and Titus Koehn visited Denise at Gallup, N.M., Aug. 13-18.

Parents and patrons of the Cottonwood Grove School had a Tuesday evening ice cream social and welcoming for the teachers.
