Northwest of Durham: Area residents celebrate 4th of July

On the July 4 weekend, many of the Gene Redger family came to spend the weekend. Jaraine had guests from Friday evening through Monday evening.

Lola Redger went to the home of Ray Redger and children July 4, to be a guest with other family for a backyard barbecue. Additional guests were Verla Redger and Lisa Redger.

The Merlin Wiebe family were last Sunday guests at the home of Harry and Lela Wedel.

On Thursday evening Mark and Kris Wiebe hosted a benefit old-fashioned supper outside for the school. A large group attended.

On July 4, Jason and Sheri Wiebe hosted a wiener roast at their house for Larry and Wanda Koehn and Titus, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, and Bruce and Cheryl Dirks.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe invited Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks and Heath, Richard and Charlotte Wiebe, Maryln and Karlyn, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, and Teresa, and Lisa Redger to be their dinner guests Sunday.

Enjoying Sunday dinner in the home of Larry and Wanda Koehn were Duane and Louise Ratzlaff and Rayletta, Harlan and Sherry Koehn and Mark, and Tim and Sheila Koehn and Jared.

Ron and Dora Unruh attended some of the baseball tournament games at Hillsboro over the weekend. Their grandson Nathan Unruh was one of the players.

Cheryl Dirks and Lydia Dierks took Carol Unruh out for dinner on Monday in honor of her recent birthday.

Katelin Unruh returned home early Tuesday after spending since last Sunday at the Mennonite Church USA conference with other youth from First Mennonite and Trinity.

Those who had Sunday dinner at the home of Dalton and Lorna Wiebe were Troy and Marla Wiebe and family, Irvin Isaac, and Roy and Nadine Davis and Eileen.
