Northwest of Durham: Families celebrate Father's Day

Richard and Kathy Dirks were Sunday evening guests for Father's Day at the home of Doug and Colleen Weinbrenner of Hillsboro for homemade ice cream.

Coming to the home of Ron and Dora Unruh Sunday evening for homemade ice cream were Jim and Brenda Enns, Lisa and Darren, Lon and Deb Hiebert and Matthew, Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin and Sarah, Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan and Kyle, and David and Ashley Enns.

The Morning Star Church dismissed their Sunday services here so everyone could attend the Sunday morning wedding of Doug Koehn and Starla Koehn at the Fredonia church.

The up-coming marriage of Sara Koehn, daughter of Larry and Wanda Koehn, to Tom Penner from Swan River, Manitoba was announced June 8. The wedding will take place at the Morning Star Church on June 29. Congratulations to the couple.

Friday evening supper guests of Bruce and Cheryl Dirks were Larry and Wanda Koehn and family, Melvin and Vera Dirks, Martha Unruh and Carol, and the Howard Becker family of Galva.

Marcella Unruh attended church with Gerald and Debbie Unruh in Salina Sunday and was their dinner guest for a barbecue. Other Father's Day guests were Debbie's father, Francis Schuler, and Gene and Sue Unruh.

The Harry Decker family honored their father, Harry, by going out for supper Saturday evening at Old Towne Restaurant in Hillsboro. Enjoying the evening were Gene and Jarane Redger, Carolyn Duggan, Earl and Sharon Decker, John Decker, Merle and Kathy Decker and the Carey Flaming family from Colorado.

Sunday evening the Ransom Wiebes, Clayton Wiebes, Richard Wiebes and the Ken Wiebes attended the wedding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Tony Wiebe at the Inman Zion Church. The couple was married recently at the North Silver Valley Church in Manitoba.

Father's Day evening guests for homemade ice cream in the home of Harry and Sheryle Rhodes were Harry and Lela Wedel, Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family, and Ken and Shelly Giesbrecht and Taylor.

The family of Gene and Jarane Redger came home to the family farm Sunday noon for a barbecue. Harry and Verna Decker were also guests.
