Northwest of Durham: Grad receptions abound

It was graduation weekend for many schools as well as some that had their last day of school Friday. Hillsboro USD 410 had commencement exercises Sunday afternoon. There were a lot of receptions Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

The Cottonwood Grove School had their program Friday evening with a play day and basket dinner Saturday for patrons and parents.

Gene and Jarine Redger had several graduation ceremonies to attend this past weekend. On Saturday they went to Newton where granddaughter Jessica Larez graduated. On Sunday afternoon, Gene and Valora, Vicky and Melinda went to Burrton for Daniel Stanford's graduation. Jaraine, Terry, and Lisa, Jamie and Summer and Tara and girls went to Peabody where Hannah Redger graduated. Later they all went to the home of Randy and Tina Redger for a barbecue supper. They also were joined by others who went to Burrton.

Kelly and Karleen Kohn and girls, Anthony and Beth Wiebe, Kendra Smith, and Dianne Wedel were Sunday dinner guests of Merlin and Karletta Wiebe.

The Jantz family relatives had a basket dinner Sunday at the school for Karen Jantz and Carolyn Jantz of New Plymouth, Idaho.

Ron and Dora Unruh went to Hillsboro for their grandson' Darrin Enns' graduation and reception at Trinity church. The Mark Unruh family and Warren Unruh family also attended.

Richard and Katy Dirks attended graduation and a reception for Lucas Hamm.

Wayne and Debbie Geis hosted a reception for their son, Logan Saturday evening at their farm home. Marcella Unruh was among the many neighbors and relatives who attended. It was a beautiful evening.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe enjoyed having the Wayne Wiebe family, Dalton and Lorna Wiebe and Kyran, Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, and Heath and Carol Unruh as their Sunday dinner guests.

Marlin Bartel of Lincoln, Neb., spent the weekend with his mother, Ann Bartel. They went to a reception Saturday evening for Amanda Bartel, Ann's granddaughter. They attended commencement exercises Sunday afternoon at Hillsboro.

Greg and Charlene Wedel hosted a party Monday evening for their son, Cadon's third birthday. Among the guests were Wendell and Linda Wedel.
