Northwest of Durham: Group celebrates birthdays

Those who gathered Saturday at Gallaway's Restaurant in Hesston to celebrate recent birthdays were Wendell and Linda Wedel, Allen and Ann Mayeskea, Bev Mayeskea, and Ron and Margaret Jantz.
Don and Marlene Sattelfield of Shawnee came Friday morning to spend some time with their mother, Marcella Unruh, and helped her celebrate her recent birthday. They spent Friday shopping in Salina and eating out. They also went to visit Leland Kaiser at Hillsboro Long Term Care Unit. Don and Marlene went Saturday to the state fair in Hutchinson. They spent Sunday with Marcella and returned home Sunday afternoon. Her granddaughter, Jessie Schroeder spent Monday with her.
Larry and Wanda Koehn hosted a Labor Day picnic in their woods on the farm. Their guests were Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Tim and Shelia Koehn and Jared, Carol Unruh, and the Jerold Koehn family.
Several families from here joined family members who are residents at Moundridge Manor Friday evening for the annual outdoor picnic. It was served to about 490 residents, family members, and workers.
Sunday dinner guests at the home of Quinton Unruh were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Melvin and Vera Dirks, Ruston and Lydia Dirks, and Darrel and Donita Rhodes and Tyson.
Harry and Sheryl Rhodes invited Mark and Kris Wiebe and family, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, and John and Ethel Steiner to be their Sunday dinner guests.
