Northwest of Durham: Koehn, Wiebe to marry

Congratulations to Lorna Koehn and Dalton Wiebe who will be married on July 28 at the Morning Star Church. The parents are Larry and Wanda Koehn and Richard and Charlotte Wiebe all from this area.

An early Father's Day was observed when the Harry Wedel family got together Sunday at the Lehigh City Building. A basket dinner in honor of fathers was enjoyed by all.

Jason and Sheri Wiebe invited Ken and Sandy Wiebe and Stuart and Lea Isaac and family to be their Sunday dinner guests.

On Thursday, the Mark Wiebe family went to Norman, Okla., to attend the funeral services for her uncle. Randy Stover was killed in a motorcycle accident on June 2. We extend our sympathy.

Newton and Maria Jantz from California arrived at the Wendell Wedel home on Saturday to visit family and friends. That evening Amanda Wedel joined them for supper.

Saturday dinner guests in the home of the Larry Koehns were John and Dorothy Burns, Nita and Della of Lobelville, Tenn. They are friends of Sara Koehn as that is where she taught several years ago.

Dora Unruh attended the Rosary services for Florian Krotz at the Pilsen Church on Monday evening.

Barb Unruh returned last Saturday after spending the past week as a sponsor with the young people of the Trinity and First Mennonite churches. They went to do mission work in the inner city of Chicago.

Alice Base visited the Palmer Bases on Thursday.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe had as their Sunday dinner guests the Mark Wiebe family, Duane and Louise Ratzlaff, and Jeff and Irvin Isaac.

Lela Wedel had a neighborhood coffee at her house on Wednesday afternoon. Guests who had an enjoyable time of visiting were Paula Butterfield, Sheryle Rhodes, Karletta Wiebe, Ruth Thayer, and Paula and Lucille Base. Refreshments were served.

Sunday dinner guests of Richard and Charlotte Wiebe were Larry and Wanda Koehn and family, Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, and Troy and Marla Wiebe and family.

On Sunday, Wendell and Linda Wedel and Connie, Maria Jantz, Dale and Kathy Jantz and Ruthann, and Greg and Charlene Wedel went to have dinner together at the Smolan restaurant. This was in honor of Charlene's birthday.

Palmer and Lucille Base attended the Base reunion Saturday at Smolan.

Two weeks of Bible school at the Morning Star Church concluded Sunday evening with a program at the church by the children.
