Northwest of Durham: Lila Unruh retires from post office

Come and celebrate with Lila Unruh and wish her well on her retirement by having coffee at the post office in Durham from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 1. Everyone is welcome.
Guests in the Larry Koehn home Thursday evening for homemade ice cream were Travis and Sharon Koehn and family, Tim and Sheila Koehn, and Dalton and Lorna Koehn. They celebrated Larry's birthday.
Sarah Unruh was a guest Monday evening at the Doug Weinbrenner home for a sleep over and birthday party. Sarah and some friends helped Candace celebrate her birthday.
Guests for a fund raiser supper in the home of Jason and Sheri Wiebe were Wendell and Linda Wedel and Connie, Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Melvin and Vera Dirks, Mike and Mich Rhodes and Madison, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, and Andrea Hiebert of Hillsboro, who had helped Sheri during the day prepare supper.
Enjoying Sunday dinner in the Roy Davis home were Wendell and Linda Wedel, Greg and Charlene Wedel, Gerald and Eva Davis and Connie Wedel, who had gone to get Amanda Wedel from the Manor to enjoy the day with them. They also listened to the wedding of Rochelle Steiner which took place in Winton, Calif., on Sunday. John and Ethel Steiner and Randall went to the wedding and on their way they spent a few days at Buhl, Idaho, attending the wedding reception on July 13 for Deane and Jason Koehn.
Ben and Lenora Goentzel visited Ruth Goentzel one day at Salem Home. They also stopped to see Ernie Unruh.
Having Sunday dinner in the home of Ken and Sandy Wiebe were Dave and Chris Redger and family Lisa Redger, Doyle and Kara Wiebe and family, and Henry Redger.
On Tuesday, Albert and Goldie Koehn of Artois, Calif., were dinner guests of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe at the Main Street Cafe. Later that afternoon they visited at the home of the Wiebes.
On Thursday, supper guests of Jason and Sheri Wiebe were Ransom and Lillian Wiebe and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kuhns and family of Bloomfield, Iowa, and Carol Ensz of Hillsboro. The Kuhns are interested in producing cheese in Iowa.
On Friday, the Richard Wiebes, Ken Wiebes, Clayton Wiebes, Ransom Wiebes and some of their children and families took homemade ice cream to the Moundridge Manor to enjoy with Helen Wiebe.
Sunday afternoon, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to visit Katie Buller at Memorial Hospital in McPherson and then stopped for a visit at the home of Martha Unruh and Carol in Lehigh.
Lon and Deb Hiebert and Matthew were late Sunday afternoon and luncheon guests of Ron and Dora Unruh.
