Northwest of Durham: Residents attend Hesston graduation

Friday evening, the fifth grade class of USD 410 presented a musical, "The Wizard of OZ." Richard and Kathy Dirks and Ron and Dora Unruh attended as their granddaughters, Candace Weinbrenner and Sarah Unruh respectively had a part in it.

Candace was in a small group of singers, and Sarah had some solo parts. The entire class and the director did a very good job of presenting it and should be congratulated. Mark and Barb Unruh and Katelin also attended.

On Sunday, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to Garden City where they visited Claude Unruh at the hospital. He is a little better

Bruce and Cheryl Dirks invited Martha Unruh and Carol, Melvin and Vera Dirks, John and Ethel Steiner, Randall and Deanne, and Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and Darcy to be their dinner guests.

Sunday morning, Ron and Dora Unruh, Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin and Sarah, and Warren and Anita Unruh, Nathan and Kyle attended the Hesston College commencement exercises for about 140 graduates. Lisa Enns, their granddaughter and niece, was one of the graduates. That evening we all and other relatives went to the home of Jim and Brenda Enns who hosted a hamburger fry in Lisa's honor. There were about 30 in attendance.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe invited the Nelson Wiebe family, the Calvin Wiebe family, the Wayne Wiebe family, and the Travis Koehn family to be their dinner guests on Sunday. They celebrated Jacob's first birthday, son of the Nelsons, and Jarrin's fourth birthday, son of the Calvins.

Sunday, Lola Redger took Darlene Unruh, Verla Redger and Marcella along and all had dinner together at Mr. K's Farm House Restaurant near Abilene. Later, they visited the Eisenhower Museum Complex.

When the Lavern Littwiller family returned home to Murray, Ky., after visiting here during Easter, Cheryle Dirks and Bethany went along to spend a week visiting them. The weekend of April 25, Bruce went to get them home.

Guests for Sunday supper at the Ken Wiebe home were the Nelson Wiebe family and the Doyle Wiebe family.

Starla Koehn, Erica Schmidt, and Sara Schmidt had Sunday dinner in the Roy Davis home.

Invited Sunday supper guests of Stuart and Lea Isaac and family were Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, the Mark Wiebe family, Lisa Redger, and Ken and Shelly Giesbrecht and Taylor. Larry and Wanda Koehn joined them later that evening as guests.

On Wednesday, Anita Unruh accompanied Nathan's second grade class on a field trip to Wichita.
