Northwest of Durham: Residents hold bridal shower

Congratulations to Jason and Sheri Wiebe on the arrival of their baby girl on March 2. Shannon Ruth Louise was born at Memorial Hospital and weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces and was 21 inches long. She has two brothers to welcome her.

On Sunday, Harry and Sheryl Rhodes invited Roy and Nadine Davis and family, Mark and Kris Wiebe and family, and Lisa Redger to be their supper guests.

The Bruce Dirks family went to be Sunday dinner guests of her mother, Mrs. Glen Smith, near Hutchinson. Other guests were Cheryl's brothers the Monty Smith family, the Mark Smith family, and the Sheldon Smith family.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Tim and Lorna Koehn, and Harvey and Madelene Jantz were Sunday dinner guests of Ken and Shelly Giesbrecht near Hillsboro.

Monday evening Erin Becker, Kristi Koehn, of Galva, and Charlene Wedel and Lorna Wiebe hosted a bridal shower for Monica Unruh, bride-elect of Jeff Ratzlaff. The shower was held in the home of Harry and Lela Wedel.

The Ron Unruhs and Richard Dirks were some of those that attended the visitation for Harold Graber in Newton Monday evening. He passed away Saturday and was a former pastor of Central Heights.

Wendell and Linda Wedel were Sunday evening guests in the Harlan Koehn home near Lehigh. Greg and Charlene Wedel were dinner guests of their parents, the Wedels.

On Thursday evening, Ron and Dora Unruh attended the musical program at Hillsboro Middle School. Their grandson, Darren Enns, had several parts in it as he sang in the choir, mixed quartet, the boys' quartet, a solo, and played in the band.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe invited the Ken Wiebes, the Nelson Wiebes, and the Wayne Wiebes for Sunday evening. It was especially to listen to a report on Russia given by Carson Mininger. He is the nephew of Clayton and lives in Wisconsin, so they had it phoned in.

Sunday for supper, the Bruce Dirks family and Henry Redger went to Galva to be guests of the Troy Schmidt family. The Schmidts used to live on the Harvey Jantz farm and have recently moved to Galva.

Dinner guests of Ron and Dora Unruh on Sunday were Jim and Brenda Enns and Darren.

On Wednesday after work, Dora Unruh attended the food show in Salina together with other cafeteria workers from USD 410.
