Northwest of Durham: Storm brings needed rain

Together with a lot of wind Sunday evening we received some much needed rain. There were a lot of branches down and the corn and milo also had damage.

The Roy Davis family had a supper Monday to help their mother, Amanda Wedel celebrate her birthday. Guests were Amanda, Wendell, and Linda Wedel, Travis and Connie Becker, Rick and LaVae Koehn, and Charlene Wedel and Caden. Greg was on a trucking trip to California.

Sunday dinner guests of Harry and Sheryle Rhodes were the Calvin Wiebe and Ken Giesbrecht families.

Enjoying Sunday dinner at the home of Ken and Sandy Wiebe were Greg and Charlene Wedel and Caden and Doyle and Kara Wiebe and family.

Clayton and Betty Wiebe went to Montezuma Sunday to attend the funeral of Betty's cousin VadaLene Unruh. They returned late Sunday evening.

Richard and Kathy Dirks went to Galva Monday to take part in holiday activities.

Sunday dinner guests of Bruce and Cheryl Dirks were Mark and Kris Wiebe and family, Ruston and Lydia Dirks, and Harlan and Sheri Koehn and Mark.

Fourth of July guests for an evening hamburger fry and fireworks at the Ron Unruh home were Lon and Deb Hiebert, Matthew and Mark, and Barb Unruh and Sarah.

Don and Marlene Sattelfield and Dianne Schroeder, Shawnee, were Sunday overnight guests of Marcella Unruh. On Monday, Gene Unruh and Galen Unruh of Salina were Monday visitors. They all went to visit Leland Kaiser at Hillsboro LTC.

Sarah Unruh attended a birthday party for Dakota Kaufman on July 1.
