Northwest of Durham: Unruh attends 50th class reunion years ago

Guests in the home of Larry and Wanda Koehn on Monday evening for supper were Larry's sister, Dennis and Jewel Warkentin and Dale of Cartwright, Manitoba, Lena Koehn and Margie Jantz of Newton, Crystal Koehn of Galva, Andy and Kristi Koehn of Montezuma, Larry's nephew, and Travis and Sharon Koehn and family.

On Tuesday morning, the Bruce Dirks family and their house guests, the Lavern Litwiller family and Allen and Heather Martin, met Cheryl's mother, Verna Smith of Hutchinson, for breakfast at Main Street Café in Durham. That evening they all went to Lehigh to be supper guests at the home of Melvin and Vera Dirks. The Brad Dirks family and the Howard Beckers and their extended family were also guests.

Supper guests Sunday evening at the Ken Wiebe home were the Mark Wiebe family, the Calvin Wiebe family, and Sharon Redger and Lisa of Cimarron.

Merlin and Karletta Wiebe invited Justin and Rebecca Wiebe and boys of Bloomfield, Iowa, to be their Sunday supper guests.

The Morning Star Youth were Sunday evening guests in the home of Roy and Nadine Davis.

Mike and Michelene Rhodes and Stuart and Lea Isaac and family were Sunday evening supper guests in the home of Doyle and Kara Wiebe.

Ron and Dora Unruh, Warren Unruh, Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin and Sarah attended the farm sale Saturday for Oliver Unruh near Hillsboro.

Friday evening, Palmer and Lucille Base were guests at the wedding of Katie Lynn Goldsberry and Joseph Paul Base at the First Baptist Church in Newton. Sunday the Bases, accompanied by Conrad and Catherine Hartman, went to Wichita. They all, together with Merle and Pam Hartman, attended the Central Christian Church and were dinner guests of Merle and Pam at their home in Andover. They celebrated the Merle Hartmans' wedding anniversary which is next week.

On Thursday afternoon, Dora Unruh went to Hesston for her 50th high school class reunion at Cross Winds. Dora graduated in 1952 from Goessel High School in a class of 20. Three members have passed away, and the remaining 17 were all able to attend. They came from Minnesota, Ohio, and Kansas. In the afternoon, they toured the high school, and then there was much visiting, a banquet and program. The evening was concluded with the singing of the class song which was sung at the class night program in '52.0
