Northwest of Durham: Unruhs host reunion

Boys and girls three years old to eighth grade come join us at the Durham Library for the summer program, "Laugh It Up at the Library," from 10 to 11:15 a.m. beginning Wednesday. Sessions will be held June 11, 18, 25 and July 2. No sessions will be held during Bible School at the Baptist Church. The library sessions will be held again on July 16 and July 23. Enjoy time with reading, drama, art work, and other activities. For more information, call Mary Helen Becker at (620) 732-3326.

The children of the Morning Star Church completed two weeks of Bible School on Friday. Sunday evening the children presented a program for parents and friends.

Last Sunday, Wendell and Linda Wedel and Amanda Wedel went to the Ratzlaff reunion at the Sunflower School near Moundridge.

Arden and Judy Wiebe and family of Texahoma, Texas, came for the Claude Unruh services last weekend and were guests in the Ken Wiebe home and also visited Judy's parents, the Litwillers, near Hillsboro. They returned home on Monday.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe spent Sunday afternoon visiting residents at the Moundridge Manor.

Justin and Rebecca Wiebe and boys spent last Friday and Saturday as overnight guests of the Ransom Wiebes.

The Isaac Dirks family reunion hosted by the late Dale Rhodes family on Sunday was held at the Sugar Creek School north of Galva. Attending from here were the Bruce Dirks family, Harry Rhodes, Darrel Rhodes family, Larry Koehn family, Tim Koehns, Travis Koehn family, Calvin Wiebe family, Mike Rhodes family, Darrin Rhodes family, Ken Giesbrecht family and Richard and Kathy Dirks.

Visitors this week in the Larry Koehn home were Denver and Marilyn Penner and Tom from Swan River, Manitoba.

Memorial Day the Harry Wedel family got together at Maxwell Game Reserve and State Lake near Canton for a picnic. Other guests were Stuart and Lea Isaac and family and Sarah Schmidt, teacher, who has since returned to her home in Canada.

The Clayton Wiebe family came to their parents' home Memorial Day evening for a hamburger fry.

Congratulations on the upcoming marriage of Deanne Steiner and Jason Koehn of Buhl, Idaho, on June 22 at the Morning Star Church. She is the daughter of John and Ethel Steiner.

Molly Schroeder of Lindsborg and Diane Schroeder of Lawrence visited their grandmother, Marcella Unruh, one day last week.

Sunday dinner guests of Roy and Nadine Davis were John and Ethel Steiner, Deane and Randall, Richard and Charlotte Wiebe family, Troy and Marla Wiebe and family, and Dalton and Lorna Wiebe.
