Northwest of Durham: Wedels travel to Canada wedding

Guests for Sunday dinner in the home of Ransom and Lillian Wiebe were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Cheryl Dirks, Ruston, Heath, and Bethany, Alma; and Clara Toewes, Hillsboro; Rhonda David, Sara Schmidt, Erica Schmidt, and Starla Koehn.
A wedding receptions for newlyweds Marcel and Wendy Unruh was held at the Morning Star Church Sunday evening. They have moved into the former home of the Travis Koehns.
Saturday overnight guests of Harry and Sheryle Rhodes were his cousin, Mr. and MRs. Stuart Rhodes from Scio, Ore. The following were supper guests of the Calvin Wiebe family: Mike and Michelene Rhodes, Darrin Rhodes family, and the Ken Giesbrecht family.
Then Sunday guests of the Rhodes were their house guests, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, and Richard and Charlotte Wiebe and family.
The Larry Koehn family took dinner to the home of her parents, Dayton and Martha Unruh and Carol. Other guests were Richard and Starla Harms Montezuma.
When the Harry Wedels returned home last week from the Marcel Unruh wedding in Canada, they stopped to visit the Harold Yosts and Conrad Yosts at Iroquois, S.D.
Last Sunday, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Irvin Isaac, and Stuart and Lea Isaac went to Ulysses to attend the funeral services for 18-year-old Michael Janzen, who was killed in a car accident. He was the son of Stuart and Jewell (Redger) Janzen. Some will remember that Jewell is the daughter of the Jake Redgers, who are former residents of this area.
On the way home, the Ransoms visited her parents, the Claude Unruhs at Montezuma. Claude is feeling better.
Richard and Kathy Dirks left last Friday to spend several days visiting their daughter, Sheri and Dale Wilson and family, at Colorado Springs, Colo. On the way home they also visited Heath Buster at Denver. They returned home Friday.
Ron and Dora Unruh attended the Unruh reunion Sunday at Cross Winds Conference Center.
Friday evening, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to visit several residents at Moundridge Manor.
