Mother's Day. What a wonderful weekend to pay tribute to mothers. Some of us were able to be with family while those that aren't fortunate to have their mothers with them anymore have memories to cherish and think about.

Bruce and Cheryl Dirks had Sunday dinner guests, his parents, Melvin and Vera Dirks, Irvin Isaac, Stuart and Lea Isaac and family, Carol Unruh of Hillsboro. On Friday evening, the Dirks family went to visit Cheryl's mother, Mrs. Glen Smith of Hutchinson and brighten their visit by bringing her some flowers.

Erick Schmidt from Colorado, who teaches at Hillsboro, was a weekend guest in the Roy Davis home.

Lola Redger met her children, Lisa Redger and Ray Redger and children in Newton and they all had supper Sunday evening at Charlie's Restaurant. Later, they all enjoyed dessert at Ray's house.

On Saturday morning, Clayton and Betty Wiebe attended the memorial service for cousin, Chester Koehn, 72, at the Garden View Church near Halstead.

Several from here attended the Sunday wedding at the Gospel Mennonite Church in Moundridge. Henry Redger's granddaughter, Alisha Koehn, daughter of Darrel and Donna Koehn and Don Friesen of Bernie, Canada, were united in marriage. Harry and Kathy Friesen, an aunt and uncle of the bride also came for the wedding and spent some time with Henry, their father. Others that attended from here were the Roy Davis family, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Wendell and Linda Wedel, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe, Harry and Sheryle Rhodes, and Warren and Jane Unruh.

Congratulations to Doyle and Kara Wiebe. They had a baby boy born to them on Wednesday, May 5, at Newton Medical Center. He weighed 8 pounds 14 ounces. Ryan has three sisters to welcome him, Mishayla, 8, Tonja, 5, and Jylissa, 2.
