Congratulations to Greg and Charlene Wedel on the arrival of their first child. Their son Caden Glenn was born on May 23, 2004, at McPherson Memorial Hospital. The grandparents are Wendell and Linda Wedel and Dale and Kathy Jantz. Amanda Wedel, Elizabeth Jantz, and Nanio Mayeske are the great-grandmothers.

On Saturday evening, Mark and Barb Unruh, Katelin, and Sarah attended the reception for Megan Abrahams at the rural Canton home of the Rex Abrahams. Megan graduated from Canton High School on Sunday afternoon.

Marcella Unruh went to the Sunday afternoon graduation of her granddaughter at Southeast of Saline High School. Afterward, they had a reception for her at the Gene Unruh home.

Ron and Dora attended the Sunday afternoon graduation at Southeast of Saline High School. Afterward, they were guests in the Dennis Unruh home for a reception in honor of Chelsie one of the graduates.

The Larry Koehns left May 16 for Brooksville, Miss., to visit their daughter, Amy. While there, they also met another daughter, Sara and her husband Tom Penner from Swan River, Manitoba, Canada, who were visiting in the area. The Koehns returned on Friday. Monday, Tom and Sara were supper guests and spent the night with the Koehns on their way home. Additional guests were Tim and Shelia Koehn, Dalton and Lorna Wiebe, and Travis and Sharon Koehn and family.

Bible school at the Morning Star Church started Monday evening and will continue for two weeks.

Last Monday, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe attended the memorial services for Abe Toews, 88, at the Zion Church near Inman.

Mike and Mich Rhodes went to visit Palmer Base at Salina Regional Hospital. He is still in the intensive care unit and is seriously ill after having surgery about five weeks ago.

Dinner guests Sunday in the Harry Rhodes home were the Calvin Wiebe family, the Ken Giesbrecht family, the Darrin Rhodes family, the Mike Rhodes family, and the Doyle Wiebe family. The birthdays of Ken, which was Sunday, and Kara Wiebe, which was May 24, were celebrated.

Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to visit the Justin Wiebe family at Bloomfield, Iowa, from Friday to Sunday when they returned home.

Roy and Nadine Davis entertained Larry and Wanda Koehn and family, Jeff and Monica Ratzlaff, Doug and Starla Koehn, Scott and Tami Koehn and Rick and LaVae Koehn, as their Sunday dinner guests.

Ken and Sandy Wiebe and Teresa left Friday to spend the weekend visiting the Aden Wiebe family at Texhoma, Texas. They returned home on Sunday evening.
