Last Saturday evening Richard and Kathy Dirks went to the home of Shon and Kim Buster for a July 4th picnic together with other family and friends. Later everyone enjoyed fireworks. On Monday Kathy's sister, Betty and Wayne Garrard, from Albuquerque, N.M., came to spend some time with the Dirks. They returned home on Wednesday morning.
Brad and Joyce Dirks and family and Troy and Karen Barnt were Sunday dinner guests of their parents the Vernon Beckers. They celebrated Karen's birthday.
Sharon Redger brought her grandchildren Karalee and Kayla Wiebe back and spent some time this weekend with the Mark Wiebe family. Joni Wiebe returned home to Ingalls with her to spend some time with her grandmother.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe invited Ken and Sandy Wiebe, Jerald and Rhonda Koehn and family, Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and family, and Irvin Isaac to be their Sunday dinner guests.
Guests for Sunday dinner in the Harry Rhodes's home were Harvey and Madeline Jantz, Harry and Lela Wedel, Quinton and Dianne Unruh, and Mike and Mich Rhodes and Madison.
Invited Sunday dinner guests in the home of Marcel and Wendy Unruh were Clayton and Betty Wiebe, Larry and Wanda Koehn and family, and Rick and LaVae Koehn.
John and Jolene (Decker) Habegger and Glen and Joyce (Decker) Ginder both from Pennsylvania have been visiting relatives this past weekend in the Durham and Hillsboro area. Jolene and Joyce grew up near Durham. There were on their way home after visiting in California. Jolene has one daughter living there and Joyce has two daughters there. On Saturday evening Anita Unruh and children went to visit with them at the home of Vi and Jerry Dalke.
Last Week's News
Some of the Gene Redger family came on Thursday to spend the holiday weekend on the farm. Others joined them at different times during the weekend.
Last weekend, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to Hardenburg, Ind., for the wedding of their grandson, Brian Unruh, son of Frank and Karen Unruh of California. Brain was married to Angela Miller on June 26. They will make their home in California. Also going to the wedding from here were the Mark Wiebe family, the Jason Wiebe family, and Anthony and Kendall Wiebe. Sunday, Ransom and Lillian attended church services there before they returned home on Monday.
Sunday, Roy and Nadine Davis and girls, Mr. and Mrs. Orval Mastre, Randall Steiner, and Emmaley Reed of Salina were dinner guests of John and Ethel Steiner near Moundridge.
Saturday, Ransom and Lillian Wiebe took Ken and Sandy Wiebe along and went to Versailles, Mo., to attend the funeral service of Dewey Unruh, 94, who was a first cousin of Claude Unruh.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks invited Dale and Kathy Jantz and Ruthann, Mitch and Carol Unruh, Scott and Tammy Koehn, Ruston and Lydia Dierks, and Carol Ann Unruh to be their Sunday dinner guests.
Sunday dinner guests in the home of Clayton and Betty Wiebe were the Merlin Wiebe family, Richard Wiebe family, and the Travis Koehn family.
The Warren Unruhs invited some friends and family for refreshments and fireworks Sunday evening.
Gene and Sue Unruh and Ryan brought supper and had a barbecue with Marcella Unruh Sunday evening. They also brought fire works later to celebrate the Fourth of July.
The Mark Wiebe family went to visit her mother at Cimarron for the weekend. They also attended a Redger family get together at the home of Kris's uncle. Karalee and Kyla stayed to spend some time with their grandmother, Sharon Redger.
Monday evening, some that enjoyed a wiener roast at the Ransom Wiebe home were the Mark Wiebe family, Clayton and Betty Wiebe, the Wayne Wiebe family, and the Jason Wiebe family.
Bruce and Cheryl Dirks, together with Melvin and Vera Dirks, Ken Conley family, Bruce Winslow family, Troy Schmidt family, and Howard and Charlene Becker went to the Howard Schmidt barn south of Lindsborg to have a barbecue Monday evening.
