Ransom and Lillian Wiebe left July 16 for Glenn, Calif., and returned home July 20. They went for the wedding of their granddaughter, Rachel, daughter of Frank and Karen Unruh, to Marcus Koehn, son of Robert and Ruth Koehn also of Glenn.

Mike and Mich Rhodes hosted a family dinner Sunday at their house. Guests were Harry and Sheryl Rhodes, Darrin and Meri Kay Rhodes and family, Ken and Shelly Giesbrecht and Taylor, and Calvin and Janene Wiebe and family. They celebrated Meri Kay's birthday.

Saturday afternoon the Ransom Wiebes, Clayton Wiebes, Richard Wiebe, and Ken Wiebes went to Moundridge to help Henry Penner celebrate his 100th birthday at the senior center. He is a former resident of the Hillsboro area and was able to really enjoy the day.

Ron and Dora Unruh went to North Newton on Sunday to attend the A.E. Pankratz family dinner and visit. There were about 43 in attendance, some from New Mexico; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Enid, Okla.; Weaubleau, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; and Indiana as well as from Hillsboro, Newton and other areas in Kansas.

Sunday dinner guests in the Ken Wiebe home were Richard and Charlotte Wiebe and boys, Scott and Tami Koehn, and Ruston and Lydia Dirks.

Sunday Larry and Wanda Koehn and family, Dalton and Lorna Wiebe, and Tim and Shelia Koehn went to Greensburg and were dinner guests of Howard and Iris Eck. Other guests were Lena Koehn and Margie Jantz of Newton, Crystal Koehn of Moundridge Manor, Larry's sister, Dennis and Jewel Warkentin, of Cartwright, Manitoba; and Larry's niece, Delwyn and Becky Peters and family, of Wrens, Ga.

Palmer Base, who has been in the hospital since a surgery in March and seriously ill for quite a long time, is in the Holiday Nursing Home in Salina. Lucille said on Monday that he was eating better now and walking with the aid of help and a walker.
