Oliver Unruh

Oliver A. Unruh, 87, of Moundridge, died Dec. 10, 2006.

Born Aug. 12, 1919, at Goessel, he was the son of Abraham and Elizabeth (Wenger) Unruh.

He was a farmer and member of Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, rural Hesston.

On April 7, 1940, he married Sadie Koehn at Galva.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harvey, Harry, and Homer Unruh and Kenneth Koehn; three sisters, Hazel Koehn, Susanna Koehn, and Twila Unruh; and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, Sadie Unruh of Moundridge; son, Stanley Unruh of San Francisco, Calif.; three daughters, Deloris Nikkel of Inman, Leona Unruh of Moundridge, and Viola Koehn of Montezuma; four brothers, Conrad Unruh and Chester Unruh, both of Moundridge, Clifford Unruh of Sharon Springs, and Russell Unruh of Olathe, Colo.; sister, Martha Becker of Fredonia; eight grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Meridian Church of God in Christ, with Pastors Franklin Wenger and Shawn Giesel officiating.

Burial was in Meridian Church Cemetery, rural Hesston.

A memorial fund has been established with Memorial Home, Moundridge.
