Open house to honor couple on 60th wedding anniversary years ago

Dr. Roland and Marjorie Krause of Wichita will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at Lorraine Avenue Methodist Church, 655 S. Lorraine Ave., Wichita.

They were married Aug. 16, 1946, at the Mennonite Brethren church in Hillsboro.

After finishing medical training in Kansas City and Wichita in 1954, the couple lived in Goessel for 13 years. They have lived in Wichita since 1967.

Following his "official" retirement in 1985, Dr. and Mrs. Krause volunteered for MCC for more than three years. He also has served 10 years as a "locum tenens" physician for the Indian Health Service.

Their children are Pete Krause and David and Suzanne Krause of Wichita, Tom and Judy Miller of Omaha, Neb., and Mark and Lori Krause of Minneapolis, Minn. They also have two grandsons.
