Operation Christmas Child seeks donations
It's not too soon to plan for Operation Christmas Child.
Preparations are underway for filling shoe boxes with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other non-perishable items.
National collection week will be Nov. 15-22 when items will be sent worldwide to impoverished children.
Children, families, churches, and groups throughout the U.S. and 10 other countries collected more than 6.6 million shoe box gifts in 2003.
Operation Christmas Child, the world's largest international Christmas project for children, is preparing to send shoe box gifts to seven million children in 100 countries — including children in the Darfur region of western Sudan and Iraq.
