Options abound for Tuesday's elections
Tuesday is election day for many offices around Marion County.
In Hillsboro, positions for mayor, the City Council, and the USD 410 board of education will all be on the ballot.
Four seats are up for election on the Durham-Hillsboro-Lehigh BOE. In District 1, current board member Debbie Geis is running for re-election. Alex Blecha is also running for the position.
For District 2, Dale Klassen is running for the seat currently held by Brenda Enns. She is not running again.
For District 3, Mark Rooker is running for the seat currently held by Cal Jost. He is not running again.
Rod Koons and Gary Andrews are each running for the District 7 at-large position, which covers the entire school district.
On the Hillsboro City Council, Len Coryea's West Ward seat and Matt Hiebert's East Ward seat are both up for election. Both men are running unopposed, as is Mayor Delores Dalke.
Council and mayoral races are also taking place in Durham and Goessel. In Durham, Glennon Crowther is in the mayor's spot, and Verlin Sommerfield, Ben Goertz, Reinhold Winter, and Gary Unruh are running for five council seats. One seat is open.
In Goessel, James Wiens, Duane Duerksen, Racquel Thiesen, Anton Epp, and Joel Ratzlaff have filed for three city council positions.
And on the USD 411 board of education, four seats are up. Richard Drake is running for District 1, Maynard Knepp is running for District 2, Dan Miller is running for District 3, and Mary Rosfeld is running for the District 7 at-large position.
Goessel area voters can cast their ballots at the Agape Senior Center.
In Lehigh, the future looks wide-open. No one filed for the mayor position, and only one person, Diane Johnson, filed for one of five city council positions.
Within USD 410, voting will take place at City Hall, the Wohlgemuth Music Center on the Tabor campus, the Lehigh City Building, and the Durham Park Township Hall. See the attached map for more information.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
