Parkside Homes: August birthdays are celebrated

Parkside Homes residents celebrated the August birthdays Monday afternoon with cake, coffee, and birthday reminiscing.
The Parkside dominoes group played a number of games Tuesday afternoon. Art Wiebe and Ron Freeman were the high scorers. Coffee and cookies were served during the games. The Gospel Messengers gave the evening program to a full house.
A memorial moment for Bennie Koop was a time of sharing memories of Bennie and the ways he enriched lives.
The weekly Bible class followed and was taught by Clint Seibel. Chocolate ice cream was served.
Carla Koslowsky played piano Thursday for the weekly hymn sing. Residents were invited to watch a video on the Dust Bowl. Many memories were shared of those hard and dusty days.
Bingo games were called Friday afternoon by Mariann Unruh. Each player received a banana for participating. The blackout winner was Ike Thiessen. The weekend trivia was delivered to all residents.
Theater popcorn was served Saturday afternoon.
Gene Magnuson taught the morning Sunday school class. The Freeman family was in charge of the afternoon worship service.
