Parkside Homes: 'Band of Ah's' performs

By PEGGY BRANDT

Activity director

Monday afternoon, residents watched the video "Not to Be Modern" loaned to us by Allen Funk. We learned much about the lifestyle of the Amish people.

Tuesday, the domino groups gathered around the tables for an afternoon of games and a snack of cookie and coffee. The Band of Ah's brought the evening program. This band is from Herington, and the community is welcome to join us for these programs on the third Tuesday of every month.

John Savoia continued a series on the stories behind some of our favorite old hymns. Vanilla ice cream was served after class.

Carla Koslowsky played piano for the hymn sing before lunch. The February birthday party was held in the afternoon with music by Beverly Harms and Linda Esau and parables by Peggy Brandt with a visit with the Wimmicks (wooden people).

Bingo games called by Mariann Unruh were played by a room full of residents in the afternoon. Bananas were given to all the bingo participants. Goldie Funk was the blackout winner.

Afternoon popcorn was served on Saturday. On Sunday morning, the Kliewers taught the Sunday school class. Trinity Mennonite Church brought the afternoon worship service.

Parkside is in need of an accordion (47-79 bass). If you have one you would donate or sell, we would greatly appreciate it. Contact Peggy Brandt at 947-2301.
